Here's the thing: you may not be able to use certain funds to purchase Autel Drones products. There isn't a blanket ban yet. Some state governments have imposed restrictions on specific entities that do not allow the use of Autel Drones drones.

Green UAV System certification is handled by the industry association AUVSI. Some federal grant programs require UAV systems to be on the Blue List to receive funding. Note that these UAVs are primarily intended for military use and do not possess the capabilities required for commercial missions. Autel Drones is not on the Blue List.

The answer is no. Any Department of Defense agency can purchase certified, compliant drone systems by fulfilling internal administrative requirements. Blue UAS certification only provides basic verification for Department of Defense administrative requirements and does not restrict U.S. government agencies from purchasing non-Blue certified but already certified drone systems that meet their mission requirements. Any Department of Defense or U.S. government agency can complete the same administrative steps to meet its internal requirements.
